Exclusive Teaser and Pictures: The Making of “Activation of the Groove”

Check out this WtU-Tube Video and get on the instrumental double chorus of Archetype! This cut out has been taken from couple days ago (about 28th October) and already more has been added such a bari sax and vocals will add even more energy to this!

Activation of the Groove Teaser

Forget energy drinks get a dose of Activation of the Groove! It’s home grown DIY Stankh Juice at its finest! Activation of the Groove is a 4 Track concept EP, with inbetween tracks of sounds captured through space and time travel. In the inside of the CD case you’ll find the travel stamps of where we’ve been up to.

The cosmic interludial sounds will be only available on the EP. That will hopefully arrive for the 6th December.

The Artwork is getting drawn and painted by Doc Rocket (blind folded). Using paint from the ancient time of Atlantis.

The record will be released on all digital distribution stores such as amazon, iTunes, Spotify,…via Ditto Music and Stankh Records.

WtU record in their very own Stankh Records Studio that they usually use as a practice room.

Come to our gig on 6th December and purchase our CD that we have been working on for the past 5 weeks. The money of the recordings will go into financing a more permanent booth and better recording equipment (like an actual pop-shield?…) so we can produce more stankh music that will shake your bootay!!

News for our fans in Ireland and Luxembourg: Spotify arrived! BOOM!

Greetings Cosmic Warriors based in the land of Ireland and Luxembourg,

As we got members who originate in their forms as a human being your lands. We’d like to let you know that Spotify has finally rolled out in Ireland and Luxembourg. Ka-POWW!!

Spotify is a great tool listen to music for free and to support the musicians you listen to at the same time.

This means you can stream our first EP released on Stankh Records by clicking on the picture below. It also allows you to install this stankhing application if you haven’t done that yet. Brraapp!!

And as from 7th December 2012 you should be able to listen to the ‘Activation of the Groove’ EP that features the songs Cosmic Warrior, Drive me Away, Stop the Rot, (What’s Your) Archetype and some additional Bonus Tracks! BOOM!

Yo yoyoyo Funkateers!

I’m M.Lou the girl with the ‘fro and bringing you the latest news in land of WtU!

Thanks to Jay we have this amazing video of Pow! Make A Move…a song that had it’s debut on the 3rd Degree Festival at LIPA on 7th April 2011.

Watch it and be amazed! POW! Performing are Phil Dolan on the human beat box machine, me on the baritone saxophone and our dear friends who may already know of ‘Type of Mood I’m In’, J Taylor and Joshy Slimfast, or how WtU likes to call them ‘The Hemptations’

Oh yeah as we mentioned in our newsletter before…we went to the study to get ‘Wastelife’ on a record. We are still in the mixing process…what I can remember from the latest listen to the mix it’s going to sound mental ;) If anyone really dies to hear one of the early instrumental mix downs…please twitter us @WtU and tell us why you must hear it! Boring Fun-Fact: On the pictures you can see we’re testing quite a few ones out…but everyone of us was using the same mic at the end…hm…yeah however…*snare-roll* Now to the super exciting stuff and probably why you came to see this post!

Our Saturday-Sunday Adventure in Wales…POW! See there we had a gig:

What..you didn’t know about a WtU gig Wales? Right, the reason why is because this gig was a wedding gig, a great couple booked us to play 2 Sets at their Wedding! 1 WtU and 1 filled with covers! How amazing :D WOO!! WtU enjoyed that place, the free food and the people to party with! WOOO!!! Fully recovered from the EP Launch…we’ve been busy with practicing for recording our new single ‘Wastelife’ and preparing our set for 3rd Degree Festival at LIPA, 7th April!

Thanks again to everyone who was involved with the EP Launch and for making it such a special night for us all =) Videos of the event will be up spooooon…promise…we’re really busy making music at the moment!

So what’s new?

We uploaded the LYRICS and songs of our EP on our myspace.com, bandcamp.com and reverbnation.com for you! YES YOU! …because we had requests from people who wanted to sing along at gigs but didnt know the words! And were like:” Awww maan!” So this won’t happen again ;) Oh yeah this my favourite line in the set: “You say this is the straight life, we say this a wastelife…wOAAAB!” That song isn’t on the EP but will be the single – look out summer! – Final mixing session on that song is before the showcase…there might be a chance for all the funkateers to get an exclusive download of that newest recording via the mailing list. What the Rhyhtm WtU do?

Basically they finally came around to record “No One Left To Kiss” that’s basically one of my favourite chuuuuunes in our set! :D Can’t wait to get me bari parts down for it! WOOO!!

As well we took an other take of No Hope for Love! Boom pow 1 take and done! POW POW POW!

Don’t forget all 9 of us are going to play live at The Masque on FRIDAY 22nd October! At 9pm just before Youngblood Brass Band are about to smash the venue…or hypnotize the crowd by their amazing vibes to smash the venue!! Come as long it’s safe! haha
